Wax

An ocean scented candle,
Is all the light I see,
Its manufactured fragrance,
Forgotten in the breeze.
The wax from former fires,
Lies frozen on the floor,
Without the means to manage,
The flame it might support.
With every added lighting,
The mountain only grows,
A variety of colors,
And the history that it shows.
Now with its work completed,
What will become of this?
Will someone melt and mold it,
And gift it with a wick?
Or will just remain here,
As droppings on the ground,
Something to be scraped off,
When the landlord comes around?
Then tossed into the alley,
Never to decay,
The wax will always be there,
When the fire has gone away.

Better for Me
02:49

Boy I see you,
As you’re walking,
Down the Main Street,
Of this damn town.
And you know that,
You’re not welcome,
In this place now,
So don’t come around.
Cause I know you’ve been cheating on me,
And I got nothing more to say to you,
I’ve got to do what’s better for me,
I’m going to find somebody new.
If I see you,
I don’t know if,
You’ll be walking,
Way from this one.
You don’t want to,
See what’s coming,
Know what they say,
Love’s a warm gun.
Cause I know you’ve been cheating on me,
And I got nothing more to say to you,
I’ve got to do what’s better for me,
I’m going to find somebody new.

From Sea
03:45

And I know,
That I must go,
Away from here,
I am sorry my dear.
It’s not that I am not so in love with you,
There is just something that I have to do.
You know you’re my baby,
And I think of you daily,
And I can’t help but cry,
Every time that I write.
But I couldn’t live with knowing I’d held you back from life,
So whatever you do without me will be alright.
There is no way,
For me to say,
Just exactly how long,
That I will be gone.
And if you’re waiting here when I return from sea,
Then I’ll know that you are all I really need.
And I know,
That I must go,
Away from here,
I am sorry my dear.
It’s not that I am not so in love with you,
There is just something that I have to do.

On My Mind
03:52

Every time I feel like I should call you on the phone,
I can’t help but try to think of ways to get you alone.
I don’t want to say that I’d die without you babe,
But I know that I want you too much.
Then I think about it twice, and I feel like I’m alright,
I just really need your touch.
You’re just a sympathetic dream that’s waiting for me,
And I’ve got nothing left to hide.
You run out in the cold trying to find someone to hold,
But the feelings don’t subside.
I never thought I would be the girl who falls in love,
Then you came around and changed my world from up above.
You’re in my heart,
You’re on my mind,
And I think of you
Nearly all the time.
You’re on my lips,
You’re in my nose,
And the scent of you,
Won’t leave my clothes.
